Researchers from Cambridge and LMU met in Munich to share new insights on cosmology and strengthen international collaborations.
From September 15–18, 2025, the annual Cambridge-LMU Cosmology Meeting took place at the University Observatory in Munich. Supported by the Cambridge–LMU Strategic Partnership, the event brought together researchers at all career stages — from Master’s students to senior faculty — to exchange ideas at the forefront of cosmology.
The program featured vibrant sessions on AI methods and emulators, large-scale structure, cosmic microwave background and clusters, gravitational lensing, and the early universe, alongside discussions on statistical and simulation-based inference. Participants shared cutting-edge results, tackled open questions such as cosmological tensions, and explored new methodologies.
Beyond scientific talks, the meeting fostered collaborations across institutions and generations, with plenty of time for discussion and networking. Highlights included lively debates and a convivial conference dinner in Munich’s historic city center.
This yearly meeting continues to strengthen ties between Cambridge and LMU, building a dynamic platform for advancing cosmological research and training the next generation of scientists.
